A new beginning, small or big, can be scary. A home, a city or a job, a child, a friend, a choice.
Often, it’s like a leap into the unknown and if you are a comfort-zone person, you may find it very difficult to accept that change and find a new dimension. Yet, there is something fascinating in changes, that urges you to take risks, to let you go.
So, after a long time, I decided to take a leap.
I decided to broaden my horizons, to give myself a new opportunity, to get involved and leave my comfort zone where I was hiding after the birth of my son, the transfer from Africa to Milan, the new life as mum.
That’s why I am here, writing my first blog post!
This blog was born with the intent to connect with you, to create a more human relationship (usually I’m hiding behind the screen), to help you better understand what I do, but above all to understand if what I do can be useful for your business.
I will publish useful contents and tips, will tell you what a translator and copywriter can do for you and how you can make the most of a language strategy.
I love my job, I’ve been working in the translation industry for almost 10 years now and I want to share what I learned so far: for this reason, you will also find posts about my experience. This will be a way to share opinions, help colleagues and aspiring translators or maybe ask for help! I believe in collaboration and discussion as means to improve oneself and grow.
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself.
Hi, I am Adelina and I work with words.
I read, study, move and taste words to make sure that they express a message, convey a meaning, communicate values.
Yes, that’s a job. 🙂 Although the majority of people I know think I am unemployed.
Let me shed some light on this topic.
I have been dealing with translation and communication for several years as a freelance.
This means that:
- I work on my own;
- You can find me in my home office or in a coworking space;
- I regularly pay taxes.
- I come from the south of Italy, an amazing territory with warm people and astonishing natural beauty.
- I eat too much chocolate.
- I can read a book in one day.
- I say no when there is something I disagree with.
- I believe in the power of good stories.
